The "package" is not quite finished - I'm building a display stand to go along with...
The sheath is full smooth leather lined and water resistant finished to make it easy to clean. The "safety strap" is a simple leather wrap weighted with a piece of Damascus - this is a simple one hand retention device that can be tucked out of the way for display if so desired.
Hopefully my next pictures will better catch the nuances of the colors (reddish browns shifting to almost black) in the sheath, which was dyed and finished to "match" those in the knife's handle.
Sheaths are always a challenge, and ones made for knives whose makers are at the top their game are always more so since folks tend to expect "more". This one was especially challenging as well due to the desire on the owner's part as well as my own to pay a nod to the knife's Old West roots, while matching it up with Jerry's "modern" take on those roots.
In this case it took two false starts, which added up to the proverbial "third times a charm", but I think I nailed it..........
