Some of you have been asking me about the odd khukuri that decorates my home page. The knife had been in storage for over five years now and I finally decided to pull the piece to take a few additional photos. You can imagine how pleased I was that the knife is not only as interesting as I recalled, but perhaps also much older and certainly more intriguing. I have added a few comments and pictures to my newsletter. This is certainly one of those that we wish we could make talk.

I like the aluminum foil scabbard. It looks like my own handiwork. :D

Does that guard get in the way when chopping stuff? Somehow I like it though.

Hi Bruce,

No, the guard doesn't get in the way, although the handle is very short by our standards. The sheath is actually very traditional, leather over wood, but in poor shape so it is wrapped and sealed in plastic to preserve what little is left.
