Went for a walk the other day, took a few pics. It was cloudy and drizzling so most of the pics are of undergrowth and flowers. Hope you enjoy.

Here's the trail at the top of the ridge:

Some greenery next to the trail:

Some flowers along the way:

some really nice views there, shame about the drizzle but at least it keeps the heat off your back...

looks like a nice trip.

Excellent pictures - I love the first one. I'd tweak it with just a bit more shadow contrast to bring out the details and then I'd hang it on the wall! Great looking knives too!

Thanks everyone. The clouds and drizzle certainly keep the heat down and they make for great photo contrasts.

KGD, what do you mean by "tweak it for more shadow contrast?" Is that with photo-software? Which tool would I use? I like playing around a bit but I never seem to really "improve" any of my photos.

I was actually rather proud of myself for getting them posted correctly. ;)

Great pics bro, those Indian Paintbrush are one of my favourite flowers !

Where were they taken exactly?

I really like those pics, one of these days I need to get up there. The regular drizzle is what makes that area what it is, and I wouldn't mind a little cool drizzle occasionally in the summer around here.

Pit,
I love the Indian paintbrush too! One of my favorites to look for whenever I'm on a trail. Didn't see much of it on this hike though, too much canopy. That particular one was at about 4200 feet in elevation, on the lee (east for this area) side of the ridge.

This hike was in the Olympic National Forest, sort of near the Dungeness watershed. Across the Straits from you, eh?

I've been up in that area many moons ago...simply beautiful! Thanks for sharing and now I'm a little home sick:(

Cool. I like a bit of drizzle. I guess you have to here. The woods always smell a little bit better when they are damp.

It's been over 16 years since I last was on the Olympic Peninsula, and 35 years since I last hiked out there. It still looks like it's as grand as ever! That's one of the most beautiful places I've ever been on this planet!

Wonderful pics, thanks for posting.
Looks like a spectacular place to be.
I could use a vacation like that right now.
