A Walk on a Nice Autumn Day

Went for a little 4 hour hike today in my favorite woods. Walked to within 10 feet of a big doe laying down in the brush. I think we both peed a little when we finally saw each other. I may have said a naughty word when she jumped up and sprinted away.:p The colors were amazing today. Also tested out my Devildog with a shoulder strap today... I think I found my new dayhike setup.

Beautiful photos! Looks like you have a few Yellow Poplars there, what area of the country are you in?

Looks like a great bag and great knife for a day hike set up. I keep seeing and hearing so much about them...I'm going to have to try one of those Barkies out one day.

I'm smack dab in the middle of Iowa, Mistwalker. Once you drop the hammer on a Barkie you'll never regret it.
