A Walk on a Nice Autumn Day

Went for a little 4 hour hike today in my favorite woods. Walked to within 10 feet of a big doe laying down in the brush. I think we both peed a little when we finally saw each other. I may have said a naughty word when she jumped up and sprinted away. The colors were amazing today. Also tested out my Devildog with a shoulder strap today... I think I found my new dayhike setup.

Beautiful photos! Looks like you have a few Yellow Poplars there, what area of the country are you in?

Looks like a great bag and great knife for a day hike set up. I keep seeing and hearing so much about them...I'm going to have to try one of those Barkies out one day.
