A well used Polaris

Scott,

Is that polaris the orignal one you made ?
I thought in his review he posted the handle
Was tan ? Or did the micarta just darken with
Use ?

Frank

P.s. Responded to yor email !

That's great...I'm standing by. Maybe something like this Polaris model (but enlarged - this one looks a bit small, no?) but with a small finger guard? I'm in no rush.
It's 8 1/2" overall. I was thinking maybe a Deer Creek. That looks like a model you'd like. Deeper finger cutout.

Frank, Kev has two of them but that was the first. Natural micarta darkens like that with use.

When I saw Kevin's model at your 2010 Campout, I thought it had osage scales, it got a lot darker. Really interested to see my UNK and 8" Tusker get like that.

All micartas get dark with use. When I finish them, they are considerably lighter then their normal tone. Using them always darkens to their natural color.

I have some A2 in the size for an 1/8" Deer Creek. Have to check on O1.

Scott,

Didn't know you posted this. I've been away from the forums for a while. The picture is deceptive. I actually never get outdoors. It was done in my basement with a hockey mask on.

The micarta is the same from the original review. It did darken with more use and I love the natural look to it. The Polaris is an ideal knife and done right for 4" belt knife duty. Paired with my Bolo, it is my go-to pair for teaching courses. In fact, I have a hard time traveling without my Polaris. It is always with me or in my car nearby. Kind of like a trusted friend ready to get up and go.

Thanks for chiming in Kev. If it's ok with you, I'd like to post that pic on my website.

Absolutely brother! Please do! Let me know if you want a "well used bolo" photo too. I'll take the pics on the next trip.

That would be great. Any photos you want to provide, I'll post on my site.
