A wheel gun thread on a knife forum S&W Model 19 alternative

I'd probably pony up for the 19. They are special. I missed out on a pristine one a few years back from an estate sale the local gun shop had bought. Still kicking myself. I shoot .38s in it and carry .38 plus p. Best of both worlds and then buy her a sweet lever action in the same caliber. It would round out the fun and defensive chores.

If you're gonna go off in a different direction, that's one hell of a fine direction to go.

Still, if you ever see a 19 and you got the cash for it, you won't be disappointed. One of the finest firearms I've ever had the pleasure to shoot.

Did exactly that a few years ago. Bought my 19 used from a now closed shop, it used to belong to a LA County Sheriffs Deputy, was his last issued revolver prior to the department switching over to semi-auto pistols. Shop bought it from his widow. They also bought a virtually brand new one from her but it was a little more than I wanted to pay at the time. Wish I’d ponied up and bought em both given their current value.

Supplemented it with a Marlin 1894 in 357 magnum a few years later. Bought it used, sent it to Wild West guns for a tune-up and a peep sight. Still have them both here on our little ranch in NM.

Both of them are fine weapons. Would cost at least twice what I paid to replace them now.

What can I say she loves snazzy stuff. I still prefer my Canik Combat Elite but nothing wrong with the Legion!

Great gun! One of my favorites. It really is a sweet shooter.

Edit to add, is my favorite handgun, mine is nearly perfect in my opinion. Happy B benchwarmer380 ?
