Ordered this 0452 CF from the U.S. 6 months ago, but all I got was a letter from NZ Customs informing me they had seized, and I quote, "One (1) Zero Tolerance Flick Knife".
Took a bit of correspondence but I jumped through the hoops, appealed the seizure on the grounds it had no legal basis, going to some length to explain how and a why the flipper does not constitute "a button or switch in or on the handle that when pressed automatically opens the knife".
Didn't really think it would work, particularly after the last 2 months of hearing nothing from them, but then it just arrived in the mail.
Thought I would post this in case anyone else in NZ has the same problem with a manual flipper being misidentified by an over zealous and uninformed Customs Officer - it's worth the effort as there does seem to be someone up the food chain that is prepared to listen to reason. Takes some patience but.
