A work colleague is also a knife knut!

Over the years, I have gifted quite a few knives to fellow employees who I thought would appreciate and use them.

The only person I work with who is even slightly interested in knives is my dad. And of course, everyone else knows who to come to when they need a knife. Although, I will NEVER let them use it on their own after someone broke my buck 110. However, there are times I will throw a junker in the pocket incase they need one =/. I recently told them all to buy the breacher bars from Countycomm and sharpen them. Pry bar or a knive. Just what they need =/

how did someone break your 110!?!? thats a capitol offense

Three of my mates are now knife nuts. I think their wives would have preferred I had got them on to heroin..

Many mothers would prefer that also. Women have a tendency to think knives are only for fighting and bloodshed, not as a tool. It's a common misconception by all types of people, politicians perhaps...

You're a lucky &*^. While a few people I work with carry basic knives, none of them understand the desire for upscale knives.

Hmm, didn't know there was a knife show up in SB. I might have to make the trip up there from Simi Valley :)

I talked to Darrel about it... he'll be there. I imagine Emerson and Strider too. It's a knife/watch/pen show put on by the guys that do the one in NY. Go to Strider's site - it has the dates. I hope to see you there. I'll be the guy with a Combat Infantry Badge on his vest ... and this on my arms.

Well a friend of mine is really into martial arts and has a few nice knives. I turned into a knife knut and turned him into a knife knut.

Well it was only a matter of time before a gun nut like me turned into a knife knut.

I was/am a gun nut for years. My older buddy who turned me on to guns told me years ago "knives are really more fun and interesting than guns". I was basically saying "yeah, whatever".
Now, all I care about is knives. WTF!!

Me too. I still do, even though I'm a stay-at-home dad. I mostly give away the little SAK CLassics, but occasionally something larger, as the occasion warrants.

thx - cpr

at least 2 of my co-workers are knife knuts
I also have good B/M shop just mile away from where I work, sometimes I just go there for a chat.

Two of my directors are knife folks. One fella likes tantos, the other likes traditionals. Got a couple of coworkers who like knives as well. One of them made a knife out of an old circular saw blade. He gave it to his dad, who used it as a hunting knife for years. I usually manage to sneak in my latest toy to show him. The other one is a metallurgist and has a thing for assisted openers. And the metallurgist in the test lab is not a knife person, but he and I talk blade steels occasionally.

Good for you, everybody is in too lil wayne and xbox360 at my school. There's just no appreciation for a fully serrated spyderco....Most kids think, size is the only thing that matters with knives.

I work in education, so what do you think the chances are that I'll find a knife enthusiast where I work? They already shy away from me when I bring in homemade venison stew for lunch and call it Bambi stew.:barf:

A couple of years ago we were attending a meeting off-site. Somebody had brought one of those cheap two-wire extension cords that has the little plastic hump to prevent you from using a grounded plug. They needed to plug in a grounded LCD projector when they discovered the hump wouldn't let them. I discreetly took the end of the cord, pulled out my fully serrated Benchmade AFCK (I'm not sure why I was carrying it on that particular day) and sliced off the hump. Problem solved!

The fellow sitting next to me (whom I barely knew even though he worked just down the hall) didn't say a word, but from the look on his face I think I must have startled the beejeebers out of him!

He's my manager now and I'm pleased to say that he treats me with great respect---I'm not sure if the little incident above had anything to do with that, but I'm also not sure it didn't.:D
