Ive got 2 Clinch Picks and a trainer, and I have not found anything similar for less $$$. The biggest advantage of the Clinch Pick isnt the unique blade design, its the:
- size (no bigger than it needs to be)
- sheath design (mini Tek-Lok allows adjusting the horizontal orientation so that you can draw it with either hand from a position close to your belt buckle)
- handle design (allows the knife to be gripped securely in either edge-in hammer grip or edge-in icepick grip, so you have an effective grip no matter which hand you draw with)
I also have a Jeff Hall custom Arch Ally that works almost as well as the Clinch Pick and is about the same size, but isnt any less expensive. Most production fixed blades are too big, or else they dont have a Kydex sheath with Tek-Lok to let you fine-tune the handle orientation (although you can mount a Tek-Lok on most Kydex sheath), or else the handle doesnt feel right in more than one grip.
If you find a cheaper alternative, let me know, but I think the Clinch Pick is worth the $$$.
