Just a small tribute to my Gabon Ebony Clip/Pen Barlow. Last year for my Birthday I rec'd my Barlow---it actually arrived the day of my birthday, so I knew fate played a role.

Every day, and I do mean everyday since March 23rd 2013 I have carried my cherished Barlow. I usually carry another knife of sorts but always my Barlow.

I had no plans of this being "THEE" knife but it became apparent in no time at all. I wasn't even a Barlow knife guy so the speak. Just everything about this Barlow won me over. The "worry-stone" feel of the bolsters, the oily type feel of the covers, the centered blades with no play or wiggle at all, which is still the case to this day .

I've always admired the man/men like those in Carl's story that could and did just carry one knife. Most times their whole life unless damage or loss played a role.

I knew I couldn't be that "one knife only guy" as I suffer from a knife addiction that prevents me from doing so :p. But shortly after my Barlow's arrival something took hold, as I had no intention or thought in mind that this Barlow would be my everyday companion. I admire Pete with his Peanut his daughter gifted him a little over two years ago, it's been fun to watch the subtle changes occur

As it turns out today we celebrate one whole entire year together and I see no change in the near by future :).

So a haphazard pictorial of my Barlow. no time line really, I just went furthest back in my pictures to the most recent.

Have a great Sunday everyone!!!

Well there you go, a snapshot of a Barlow in a year of EDC carry :p

Now, remember the illness (knife addiction) I said I suffer from?

Well the last shot with the candle confirmed it :D

Have a great Sunday everyone!!!

Paul

Happy Birthday! Really enjoyed the back story on your Barlow and the pictures are great.

Happy Birthday Paul (and Barlow!)!

May you have many more - together!!

That's great! I like how the pen is still shiney. Just like my outlaw. I stopped using mine for food all together. You?

Happy Birthday Paul,Great knife & photo's too

Congratz on the anniversary - as I almost stated! This thread made me smile, I actually wanted to do the same with my beloved #66 but it wasn´t that consiquent carried than your Charlow.

Oh... and your Charlow is a beauty! Looks great on the pics... thanks for sharing.

Nice retrospective! I hope I fall for a knife the way you fell for that one! My new Charlow is a contender ;)

You have a lot of nice knives Paul. Surprised you could do it:p It must be a very special one to get you to commit to it that way. Congrats on another Birthday and on finding a special knife!

A happy birthday to you and you're barlow.!

I'm so glad for you to find THEE one, and if it's been your main edc for the year now, you may have gone and done it. I've close with my peanut, but I'm just too much a blade floozy to pull it off. The best I can do is be loyal to three favorites.

Best wishes for a monogamous new year together.:D

Carl.

Happy Birthday to you and your Barlow, Paul!

Great thread Paul, a very Happy Birthday to you my friend. Hope you've had a great day :)

By chance, there's a small package sitting on my table with your name on (just some of the usual bits and bobs). I'll try to post it within the next few days :)
