A year to the day.

Happy Birthday and Happy Anniversary, Paul. Steady companions are a boon wherever they be found. Looks like you've found one you can rely on to accompany you through thick and thin. You're blessed, sir, and rightly so.

Thanks everyone, I mean that...I truly appreciate the well wishes but more importantly your friendship. I enjoy all the brother/sisterhood here.

Recently I've ventured out into other areas here on the forum, more so than in the past and as I told Duncan one day---there's a lot of people that are angry out there  That's simply not the case here. People are friendly, courteous and respectful and that's what draws me here everyday I log onto BF .

I still carry other knives but the Barlow is ALWAYS with me. Sometimes I feel that it isn't necessary to carry two similar traditional's but I just can't seem to not carry my Barlow.

My wife Nanc made my favorite hot-dish and marsh mellow brownies for desert. My family is over for quiet supper so all is right in the world ;).

Thanks everyone, enjoy your Sunday...

Paul

Happy Birthday to you both, I really like how the etch just "faded" into the patina. It's a beautiful knife and a great accomplishment to carry one every day for a year. I am struggling with my addiction I feel accomplished to make it to weeks!

Happy Birthday, Paul. Ya got me by one day though maybe not in years. Great pics and great story along with it. Hope you and that Barlow spend many happy years together.

I hit 57 tomorrow (24th) and born in 1957. Dollar wise gonna have to wait, but I'm hoping this summer to get myself something like a Bark River Little Creek which on comparing the pics and dimensions has some similarities of an opened Soddie Jr.. I think that in a pocket and my SAK Alox Farmer would pretty much take care of me on a daily basis for a long time. I'm not a rotation guy myself, but I occasionally augment.

So good on you for finding the knife that picked you out and being aware enough to respond properly.

Happy Birthday
I bought one of the new run of TC Barlows this year for my birthday. Walnut single blade.

What a thrill to watch, congrats on finding THE ONE... Something that some NEVER accomplish, so you've come to a point of "balance" with yourself and the world now - the Precious is always with you and serves you faithfully day in and day out and for years to come perhaps if you resist philandering!

I've come to the same point with my spey Barlow, it's never left behind. I've nearly always got something else in addition to it, but I can count on one hand how many times I've gone out the door without it. It's glassy smooth African blackwood scales make the most perfectly soothing worry-stone. :)

The Barlow is perhaps the most classic of classic pocket knives, so it's no wonder that it fulfills it's duties so well.

Congrats Paul and keep us posted now n then, this is FUN to watch!

Can't wait to see what's ahead for the two of you! Enjoy the upcoming year.

Happy Birthday Paul, I am truly envious of your accomplishment of carrying that fine knife every day for a year. I know darn well I could never do it. I am glad you got to spend some time with your family and enjoy the day a bit.

Cheers buddy, and here is to many more birthdays with that Charlow in your pocket!

Hey Paul - that's a great knife mate, and I really enjoyed the photo shoot and seeing the knives' progress through its stages.

Happy (now belated) Birthday, Paul! What an awesome post and walk through time with a great knife - one of the BEST posts I've seen in a long time, my friend - and I mean that! And I love the hiking stick and paracord wrap - very cool!

Great stuff, Paul!

Happy belated birthday to you both.

The birthday candle was a nice touch.
