Any chance to get a legal grip on these ******** for illegaly copying HI material in their descriptions? The Khuks do not look good, not even as the Khukuri-house stuff, I guess it is junk.
maybe we should send some "nice" e-mails alltogether?
That is not the sort of news Uncle needs right now.

Andreas

I agree wholeheartedly. I didn't put this thread up to cause Uncle Bill grief. I put it up to warn the rest of the forumites to stay miles away from these people, they obviously don't have ANY integrety. :grumpy:

I don't think they're really much competition for HI, so I wouldn't worry overly. The photos look like rather touristy khukuris, aimed at a different market?

As for the copying of text - they're actually not as bad as most of these other khukuri sites. most of them have some variant of the text I typed up on the front HI page or on the 'history of the khukuri'. of course, I derived my texts from other things written by JP or Uncle Bill or others.

I think that the statement in bold is what crooked knife is having a problem with.

You hit the nail on the head. If they were open and honest competitors I wouldn't have any problem with it. I might have bought something just to compare. But this appears to be a blatant attempt to hijack the reputation and goodwill that Bill, Pala, Yangdu, Bura and all the rest of the HI people have worked to build these past dozen years plus. This causes me mucho heartburn and I'm bellyaching about it! Honest open competition is one thing but this stuff doesn't cut it. I'm not saying that HI is perfect but I am saying they are straight up front.

They'll be getting an e-mail from me, and maybe a phone call as well! That's about as low as one can go.

Their khukuris look like a bunch of tourist junk to me. I can't see how HI would have anything to worry about. Save your ammo for more important targets......

Clear and simple...

Weeell, I'd venture to say that HI is about as perfect as they get, with one of the best at the helm! 1st Tora Khukuri Supplies, and now these guys! :barf::barf::barf:

So thier khukuris are made at the "BirGorka factory." Uncle, are you really competing with yourself?

Seriously, this is outrageous stuff. The need a visit from a Nepali barrister.

lcs37 - about your avatar:

did you know my Super Salyan with the 3/4" thick spine finally convinced me it's name is "Fat Man"? As in the movie "Fat Man and Little Boy"?

( Apologies to our Japanese forumites. )

Anyway, a true 20" hand-and-a-half khuk for some people, like John Wayne maybe, but for me at 5'4", it's definitely a two-hander.

As far as other khukuries go, there are good ones being made out there.

Order from the top of the H. I. line and you'll end up with what is consistently the best.

Order a blem and get nearly the same thing for about half the price.

Need a good working tool? order a BirGorkha "village" model.

Want something better than H. I.? You can get one. Trick is, you need to find:

1) the right material,
2) the right smith,
3) tell him the right way to make it.
4) have it properly zone tempered,
5) etc., etc., etc.

It's one thing to order a special from H. I., or a best grade Holland and Holland double rifle. It's another to try to bring it all together on your own.

Somehow I kinda doubt you or I have that depth of knowledge. A few folks around here do, most don't. I know I don't.
