We manufacture khukuris in our own factory in Nepal which is the best equipped and best staffed in the country. The kamis (khukuri-smiths) at the BirGorkha factory combine traditional metal forging techniques the same methods which have been used for centuries with their own clever innovation. The A1khukuri factory produces the highest quality khukuris in Nepal. Our factory foreman is the Royal Kami -- the best in Nepal. The khukuris we make are designed for maximum functionality and durability, and also as finely crafted pieces of art both functionality and aesthetics are key components in the production of our khukuris.

You hit the nail on the head. If they were open and honest competitors I wouldn't have any problem with it. I might have bought something just to compare. But this appears to be a blatant attempt to hijack the reputation and goodwill that Bill, Pala, Yangdu, Bura and all the rest of the HI people have worked to build these past dozen years plus. This causes me mucho heartburn and I'm bellyaching about it! Honest open competition is one thing but this stuff doesn't cut it. I'm not saying that HI is perfect but I am saying they are straight up front.
