A2 66rc 3.5 Pounds 15 DPS Axe Chops Blue Gum

I'm impressed with your heat treating skills. I didn't expect the bit to stand that beating.

Looking at the bit, that axe has a pruning geometry, a good one, but not a felling geometry and by no means a splitting one. If you want it to cut better, make it wider.

Regards

This bit fits onto ColdSteel Trailboss axe - see part 1 video. It's already wider and taller, any larger geometry could make this axe awkward. I am working on 4.7lbs chopping(+ light split) axe, test soon.

How is blue gum as a handle material....?
Looks like you have many lifetimes supply. :D
Great video, looking forward to more

Natural Blue Gum is brittle and will crack. Not sure, stabilized will/can prevent cracking, beside wood grain is boring :) Tiete rosewood is as boring but very stable for handle/etc.

Yes, 66RC seems unlikely to survive cutting a hard knot.
