Yes, 66RC seems unlikely to survive cutting a hard knot.
Thicker geometry is required for chopping hard knot, especially pin-knot. Hardness in this case reflects/demonstrates strength, hence thicker geometry made edge even more robust. Of course, high carbide volume is a liability if/when impact rock/metal/etc, also sort of for showing/bragging rather than actual effective wear resistant.
