BluntCut's whole MO is making outrageously hard blades survive the impossible at low edge angles so I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if it did survive, but only because it's one of his.

Thicker geometry is required for chopping hard knot, especially pin-knot. Hardness in this case reflects/demonstrates strength, hence thicker geometry made edge even more robust. Of course, high carbide volume is a liability if/when impact rock/metal/etc, also sort of for showing/bragging rather than actual effective wear resistant.
