A2- Desert Ironwood Drop Point

This is my classic drop point hunter in A2 blade flat ground with heat treat by Paul Bos to about Rc 60-61. A2 is a high carbon (1.00 %) tool steel with a small amount of chrome (5.2%) for corrosion resistance. This gives you a great edge with little care.

The blade is flat ground and and hand finished to 800 grit The edge is ground to about 0.015 and convex with a cutting angle of about 12 degrees to make it a real slicer.

Handle is a very nice figured desert Ironwood. finished with tung oil/


Blade 4 1/2" x 1 1/4".. Overall length 8". 1/8"thickness

I'm a sucker for that Ironwood. I love the lines on this knife.
And that video was the clincher.
 
I am starting 2-3 this weekend, I do have some other handle materials... any preferance..

Stag may be out unless I can find some at a resonable price, right now I am not seeing much on the market.
