A2 Knives Thorburn / Van Heerden A6

I'm guessing your not a tanto fan?

Love tanto knives, Traditional and some American Tanto styles. That isn't a tanto.

A tanto point was designed for penetration, American tanto was designed to penetrate body armor.

I'm guessing that point was designed to be hammered into a steel 55 gallon drum without damage?

The orientation of the actual point wrt to a direct thrust will force it either up or down depending upon minute angle differences, but not likely IN.

its probably not made to kill people, its a folding pocket knife, the tip is a little bit different than most knives but that just means it could be used for different things. some people might like to stab big metal drums for fun but i could see myself using that blade to carve out a wooden scabbard, you might even need to carve some steel to fix a pretty girls broken trailer home door and you arent going to do that to a thin edged fighting knife.

looking at the knife again, the blade appears to have some distal taper judging by the grind lines, the tip cant be that thick.

the tip of the blade will stick into whatever you stab and then the top of the knife will keep the blade from moving up, even if its just the very tip its already in the target so the blade cant slide off in any direction unless it wasnt pointy enough to begin with. i really dont understand what you mean by the blade wont thrust in.

What body armor are you talking about? From what I've read (not much) the American tanto design started in the 1980's
