A2 Tantos!

Do all these tanto have just the one large hole? Thinking it might be nice to have just the one and keep the rest of the weight.. guess at least one more small hole for holding scales on :D

What we got on these lately? Photos! I hear the masses screaming for more photos :D

Thoughts on some close together jimping on the tops of these? about an inch long.. hmmm or not! work it!

Hey man! :D

As far as holes go, the cord wrapped ones have one hole and the ones with scales have two. I plan on large flared Ti tube hardware, premium material for secure attachment beyond the epoxy bond.

More pics soon, I took an unexpected day off to babysit, lol!

Jimping would be nice but I don't think I can pull it off as these have been heat treated. Next time! :)

I'm intersted in a blaze orange wrap. Maybe a pocket sheath too.

Sounds good, can do! I'll talk to you soon on this. Dinnertime! :D

I'm always drawn to your posts Daniel but have always found myself wishing that you'd try your hand at something a bit smaller and thinner; these look like a real winner. Especially liking the curved profile instead of the angular "American" shape. Mmm... rayskin and a pocket sheath... how can I get one? Photos photos photos!

Hey Thanks!

Just let me know and I'll make one for you, give me the word here or you can email me at danielfairlyknives@gmail.com

More pics soon! :D

The cord wraps will cover the pommel like most wraps do, I am going all out on the rayskin wraps. They will have a traditional Tsuka Maki wrap.

Hey guys I just talked to Daniel and am having one of these made up with toxic green scales. This will be my first Fairly blade and I'm pretty excited. I've looked around the page a bit and see lots of other interesting stuff. Translation: I feel the addiction beginning to take hold!
It all looks good but the tantos, kiridashis and choppers really speak to me. Looking forward to this one!

Brian

badexample you are about to drink the kool aide......lol Daniel's knives are very addicting and true hard use tools. I got my first chopper Bowie from him and ordered a second one. These are going to go to the woods all the time with me. My next endeavor is going to be having Daniel make me a 5 inch blade .22 thick modified bowie to piggyback on my new chopper! That is going to be a cover everything I ever need!

:D Thanks!

I'm glad you like the tantos, 'dashis and choppers!

When I started making knives I decided to focus on neckers, choppers and Japanese influenced work... Titanium as well which will be back in full force soon!

Much appreciated and good to see you over here!

That looks great!

Thanks!!!

Wow... that green looks like dragon's eyes or something. Darn tempting...

Welcome to the addiction Mr. BadEx.

Titanium = yum! Glad to hear it will be making a comeback. I have a small Ti dagger that is really neat. I'd like to try something a little bigger and more practical.

Bigcountry, I can't wait to take a big gulp of that (toxic) green kool aide! Daniel and everyone else thanks for the warm welcome.

Welcome to the addiction Mr. BadEx.

The rayskin is fun stuff! It is crazy stuff to work with, the texture on it is a like a ceramic, tough to cut. I hear it lasts 3 generations if used as a fabric.

:D We have a great group of guys here!

Yes, Titanium is about to be back in a big way! I have a design that has been in the works for a year now and it is just now being finalized. How about... nice sized handle, very useful blade, crazy light, super strong, carbide edge!, great price. I'm not exaggerating when I say it may be my best design yet.

Ok bold print, titanium, useful, lightweight.....You have my attention! Can't wait to see what's In store.

I'm pretty excited about it, a huge step was made today.

Brian, you may have the coolest avatar of all time. It really ties the room together. :D

Man I have been thinking about these tantos non-stop for the last two days! Definitely going to be time to e-mail Daniel soon with a request...
What colors will the rayskin wraps come in? Is there a "natural" or as close to natural as possible color? Cord for the wrapping is to be black? Any more details on the pocket sheaths (leather/kydex, any provisions for a belt loop or clip?)

I swear I am *this* close to ordering one! Obviously you're a busy man Dan, but some more pictures would be sure to hook even more of us!

Nice to hear!

Hit me up soon, I only have 4 left. :D

On the rayskin I have black, fire red, emerald green and cream white. The cream white is what I would consider a natural colored rayskin. It is good looking stuff!

The leather pocket sheaths will be as streamlined as possible. I can include a clip for $10 more. They will be be made from very heavy duty thick black leather, light in weight, supple and with good retention. Welt construction of course.

The kydex will come with paracord for necker or static line use and will be teklok compatible. I can include a teklok for my cost of $10 more. Belt loop for $5. I even have a few IWB bands in thick black leather, they are $5 each.

My sheaths are "taco" or wrap around style. I use the highest end hardware I know of, it is removable for sheath cleaning and for versatility. With a tek lok about 6 different carry positions are possible. I take my sheaths very seriously and consider a good sheath part of a Fairly knife.

Hmmm have you found clips that are more thin and less bulky? What about making some clips :) oOoooo

I can get some 3/8" thick clips, they are a nice size.

I may start making clips, right now I want to focus on knives. :D Some thin Titanium would be nice though.
