You'll get the hang of this knife-making thing yet, Fairly!

In the words of my late spiritual mentor Fred Blassie, "Not too shabby."

:D

very nice blade. what would something like this go for if you produced it often?

It is simply amazing to see how far you have come as an excellent knifemaker!!

Thanks! This one sold for $325. I think if I was to make a bunch of them it would lower the price a bit.

Labor and finishing time/finishing materials are generally the biggest cost in producing my knives so it can be tough to cut costs.

Hey thanks! I recently realized it has been two years that I have been making knives... two years and one week now!

Turned out great Daniel. Love the bead blast finish.

Thanks! I really like the finish too, it looks so cool to me. The blasting had to help a ton with the epoxy bond and really brought out the texture in the G10, it's as grippy as it gets. The blasted tube may be my favorite part. I really wanted to keep it! :D

I was lucky enough to score this gnarly knife in the COVE from a great guy / future knife maker in Hawaii. Not sure if Brad's on here or not. I'll post some pics when it arrives. I always loved this knife and I look fwd to owning it. Great work Daniel.

Nice score! It's big yet very light, I made it to carry.

Oh, so not a chopper at all huh? That's ok, looks like it'll still baton and slice well etc. Do you remember what HT hardness you did this one at Daniel? Is A2 difficult to care for? should i oil it if in storage for a while?

It will chop and generally do it all, is is more of a well balanced knife than a true chopper. ...Big knife for all around ability.

If I recall correctly it is hardened to about 59-60 for the best of toughness and edge holding.

It's .315" thick but will carry well in a sheath as the balance is excellent, lots of power...I made it with the Soldier in mind. ...it's an all around tough knife that can handle most tasks with ease.

I'd keep it oiled, the finish will really soak up oil which is nice. A2 is not stainless but has a bit more rust resistance than a carbon steel.

Read post #2.
We need a Tanto next.

...Tanto sounds good! :D

Thank you Daniel, I appreciate the background details on this knife : ) Didn't arrive yet, but supposed to be enroute.

Take it easy,
Seth
