A8 Mod toughness

Seems like my next knife purchase needs to be something made by WTG in SK85, preferably the Ares.👍

I'm not a real big fan of Joe's. However, I did watch one of his vids because he was "testing" a WTG offering, and I believe it was the SK-85 Ares. If it's the vid I'm thinking of, he finally gave-up and just shot it with a 12ga. It was at that point that I knew that I was safe with my SK-85 Kodiaks. I beat many of my knives pretty good, but have never found the need to shoot any of them.

You can just tell by looking at the structure of the Ares that you're gonna' need a tool or two to even attempt to break it.

15 degrees seems a bit thin for a knife you are chopping with? The heat treat is an issue obviously, but I would want to increase to 25 to 30 degrees for a chopper? Even 20 degrees may work better as far as the edge is concerned? Though if the heat treat is bad, then it wouldn't matter anyway.

Antdog i remember you posting that Rukus a while back w the A8 mod; its a shame all that work and trouble you went through to make that knife and it was never heat treated well.
