I'm looking to place a custom order with AA Forge and would like some feed back please. It appears full payment is required up front. Any issues or concerns?

Thanks

Adam is a great guy and a true craftsman. I have a few of his knives and would happily buy a few more...

That being said, when I purchased from him last year payment was not required util the knife was done. I think there was the option to pay up front, but he did not require it.

My suggestion; send him an e-mail. Ask him about paying when finished.

I've never order from him but all his work I've seen is fantastic. Now with that being said paying all up front can sometimes lead to problems as noted in numerous GB&U threads. Not saying anything bad about him at all but things happen. Their are plenty of makers that don't require that option and a small down payment should be the only thing asked for imo. Agian not at all bashing the maker at all.

Well...as suggested I emailed @AA Forge (Adam Gray) and was told it's "standard policy" to collect payment in full. Apparently, it's all or nothing with his ordering system. I'm not sure what to think about this...other makers will take down payments or partial payments. I was burned once and MY policy is not to pay in full up front.
Thanks everyone!
