eneloops have a (manufacturing?) date code on the batteries -
it is hard to see/find - as it's lightly embossed along the length/spine of the clear covering - probably best to feel for it first -
once located use a magnifying glass and good light - probably have to vary the angle a bit to catch the right light to see.
The date code is in the format mm-yyXX -
mm = month in numerals,
yy = year in numerals,
XX = alpha characters
eneloops are said to be only partially charged about 70%(?) from the factory.
