AAA flashlight help

What kind of beam do you want? Do you want to be able to throw a bright spot across the room or to evenly light up an area at arms length without a blinding hot spot?

You might consider a headlamp... having your light strapped to your head sure beats putting it in your mouth when you need 2 hands + illumination. Especially when we are talking working lights that aren't always the cleanest.

50 bucks gets you both a trunite ti4 (neutral white tint) and a petzl tikka+

I'm certainly not looking for a stupid blindingly bright beam, but a tight pattern would be nice. Don't really like the idea of a headlamp due to the variety of uses it would fulfill. From backlighting sightglasses, to inspecting spirit barrels and insides of tanks, to just trying to find that damned gasket that fell behind a tank...

I prefer a tubular flashlight to a headlamp. With a keychain light, I tuck the keys in the neck of my shirt and leave the light hanging out. It actually works really well when hands free is necessary.

I will be buying a SureFire Titan-A because it is USA made and smaller and lighter than the Titan Plus.

I've been carrying everyday a fenix LD01 for 5 years now and it didn't fail once in all that time, it only spent 3 alcalines and 1 lithium primary in all that time, half way through the second lithium.
Besides it weights next to nothing with the lightest li-primaries.
Although it's no longer Available you can get the clicky version LD02.

Lute, have you seen the new version E05, its a three mode twisty. Really sweet little light, pretty near same size as the old version E05, but better in a lot of ways.

Yes, thank you. Actually I bought 3 of those last year at Christmas for family members and they are great little lights.
I gifted them the flashlight and a leatherman micra as part of the plan "I'm not crazy this is useful". A year later one of them is carrying both items all the time in his pocket and another the micra, the third uses them but he doesn't carry.
Anyway after a moment of doubt on my part,(when by the way I studied the entire GoingGear catalog of flashlights and saw a ton of video of them) I decided that I didn't need to go that route at all.
Now I have my needs covered with
-Fenix ld01 EDC
-eagletac d25a heavy EDC, when I need a little more
-Fenix pd22 in the car

Not rechargeable but the Maratac AAA is the best I have had. Drop in a Lithium battery and you are good to go for a very long time before you will need another battery.

I totally agree, I'm actually on my second one. The interface on it is perfect for my needs....love the Med, Low then High. I put a small lanyard on the pocket clip and keep it clipped to my left front pocket daily. I use rechargeables and keep a couple of extras in my EDC bag.
