I must have the worst luck in the world, cause I swear I got a lemon Sebenza. I hate to even say that, but it's true. I sent it in to CRK for a couple issues a couple months ago. It developed up and down blade play, was very hard to open (too much tension from lockbar), and the chamfer lines on the scales don't match up with each other. I forgot to tell them about the blade not being centered either. Anywho I got it back a couple months ago with a new locking scale that says Idaho Made. Don't care for that, especially since it's upside down, but whatever. It was also a tiny bit easier to open.

Now I noticed there is some side to side play on top of the uncentered blade and the offset chamfer lines. I haven't even taken it apart at all since I got it back from CRK. I am sure some will say to take it apart and clean it and see if that does anything. I will take it down when I get home from work, but I guarantee it won't make a difference.

I really don't want to pay $15 and ship it to them to fix again, but Sebenzas should be perfect and mine aint too close.

Have you tried taking it apart and cleaning it?

:jerk it:

Sorry you got a lemon man. It seems that since the Idaho stamp there have been more of those :).

If someone says to take it apart and clean it to see if that does anything should have theri head examined. The dang thing had issues and should have come back without any issues but uit has come back to faulty. Taking it apart shouldn't have anything to do with it IMHO.
I'd call up CRK and complain. They should pay the $15 to have it shipped off again.
I'm sorry you are having these issues. I ahve several CRK knives and ALL of them have been perfect.
I'll say it agian and the lastr time I got blessed out by the CRK nut huggers. Here it goes again. CRK is slipping. It's been made obvious the quality control is becoming an issue.

BBQ is right, this knife should be send back and they should replace with a new one, this knife has more issues that could be fixed easily. I think that CRK has one of the best warranty in the business, Better than any other in my opinion. I would give Heather a call and let her know that you already sent the knife in, and maybe they will refund the shipping. I would ask for a new knife replacement since you already sent it in once before. Good Luck:eek:

I wish I got to check out another lg 21 to compare the chamfer lines. I have a hard time believing that it's just mine that are off. On the other hand if there were others like this then I would like to think that others would have noticed.

Anyone live kinda close to Columbia, SC that has a LG 21 so I can check one out. The only other CRK product I own is a LG Regular.

I will call Heather Tomorrow and see what she says.

Not sure what you mean by chamfer lines being off but of all my sebenzas only 1 of 4 was tough to unlock and that broke itself in.. Sucks that after already sending it in once it's stll not to your standards.. Can you post some pics of the issues with the chamfer and the off center blade? Iv never seen a crk with an off center blade so should be interesting !!! Thanks and good luck with your knife .

I will try to take pics when I get home tonight. I posted a pic somewhere in this section of a rough drawing of how the lines were off because it was hard to take an actual picture of it. I will try when I get home though. Also the blade is barely off center, but you can still see it so it's off.

I'm in Charleston.

I've had excellent customer service from CRK.

I wish you the best with your knife and hope everything comes out alright.

Not bad, i lived there for a little while a couple years ago

Well I was saying that so if you were near my area you could check out mine. I may be heading to Holly Hill in the next few days if want to meet up.

CHECK OUT MINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CHECK OUT MINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Knives that is!!!!!!!!!!! Oh gosh.

Well, I took it apart and cleaned it.....

It's fixed. Kind of...

I also took the spacer to some 2000 grit sandpaper. I laid it down of the 2000 grit and slid it about 4 inches. Put it back together and the blade play is very very small. And I mean small

I think if I do it again and maybe only move it an inch or so on the paper it will be good. Not going to worry bout it right now though.

Here are some pics trying to show the lines off and the blade centering. The first one is an exaggerated drawing trying to point it out. It is very hard to take a picture showing the lines off, but they are there. You might have to save the images in order to zoom in on them enough.

<<<<You can see the far left line is higher then the left line and the far right line is lower then the right line.

I see what you mean about the lines but im pretty sure the scales are cut by a CNC machine and all are identical , meaning every scale is cut exactly the same as yours by a computer and even a replacement will be the same...

Yea, I think your right. Because the scales are the off in the same way. The lines are off to "their right" so when the knife is assembled and they are facing each other, then one looks right and the other left. Or one looks high and the other low.

When They replaced the lock side scale I noticed that it didn't look as off as the other

Maybe I just got super vision. Everyone says they are perfect. How am I the only one that noticed it. Unless mine is the only one like this.
