Recently I received a plain-edge zytel Dragonfly and a plain-edge G-10 Navigator from Discountknives.com. I ordered these for a friend yet I screwed up by ordering the Navigator plain-edged instead of serrated. Brian said no prob., just return the knife to me and I'll send you the serrated model. So I figured, no prob., yet I'll have a looksie
. Man, this Navigator is AWESOME in plain edge. I planned to get a serrated version for myself also in the future, in addition to a plain Dragonfly, but I'm just so in love with this knife that I'm considering keeping it. I'm thinking of sending for yet another Navigator serrated for my friend and just keeping this knife.
However, what good is a Navigator plain-edge if i'm also eventually getting a Dragonfly plain? Although the blade ergonomics on these two knives are different, they both look like they are suited for the exact same tasks.
So....fellow Spydie knife-nuts. What do you think? Is there ANY reason, besides the obvious aesthetic one, of owning both a Dragonfly plain and a Navigator plain? I'm not exactly comfortable with the idea of owning 2 of the same knives for now, although in different edge style, UNLESS there is a CLEAR reason as to owning both plain and serrated, BESIDES owning a plain Dragonfly. Any thoughts or suggestions?
Hopefully undecided when it comes to knives, as always,
