Fonly, what can a person legally bring across the border. If you visit US or an American visits Canada can they bring knives with them, if they are driving? How about flying? Maybe you should go into business middlemanning knives to Canadians.

That would be neat, as to driving them, I couldnt see a preoblem, mabye driving a mini van with dozens of knives could turn an officers head :D But I intend on driving back, so the things Im bringing, im going to need anyways. Espically driving through ontario, its ALONG drive, and I want to be prepared if we need to spend a night waiting for a tow truck. As for flying, as long as the stuff is in your check luggage, and they know its there ( I think you need a tag or somthing, which of course costs more  ) then you'd be ok.

I go across the border often and they will ask you do you have any weapons along with other stuff like tobacco or if you are trying to bring BC bud BACK into Canada, that's a no no here. I would think they would put survival knives into the category of very lethal weapons, plenty of jail time for that. Some of these border patrol agents are sorta dickish. My daughter came to see me from Georgia and when we went across the border and was asked for her license, she did not take her license out of the billfold, but instead handing it to him, you know the kind where you can see the license while opened. Well he asked was she trying to bribe him??? What a joke. They will search your car if they have the least little suspicion. Sometimes they search just to search. My advice would be to play it straight up when going across the border.

Thats tough. Take a vicoden and have a beer A.

when i moved ALL my knives stayed with me (guns also), i'd just make room and live with them.
heck what do you need? that ONE set of clothes will do fine till then.
she will understand.

I'd be tempted to just keep what I wasn't too bothered about and send my good stuff packed up with my camping stuff incase they are funny when you cross the border !!!

Fonly, I would have kept the same things. Good choices covering a broad range of tasks.

Fonly how about a map of your journey? And later a blog or journal? Why are you moving BTW?

Welllllllllllllll, hmmmmm, dunno. That Becker is a rather heavy looking knife. I sure would feel bad if you injured your back from an excess of weight in your gear. I say leave the BK-7 with me so as to avoid injury. Remember, you always have me here to lessen your terrible burden of too many knives. ;) :D

Looks like a great kit......ship everything else while you can get the deal.

I'll certainly be letting all you guys know, im not going till the end of the summer, and the reason being, I can't stand the city, and I miss the friends my girlfriend and I had :)

I mean, I like all the money and what not, but im not a city person, I'll live a simple life and like it more. I'm a small town person, I mean I came from a 3000 person town, to a 50,000 person city, and I just can't take it anymore. I'm used to the woods, and everything in them, and I dont have time, or anything for that matter to drive 30 mintues, just to get to a park, I want to be in the woods when theres noone else you know, like I used to be able to, which is why im headin' back :D

That's why I live in the "boonies". No cable, no gaslines, no municipal sewer, shooting range in back, and no bitching neighbors...they have the same luxuries.

my humble advice would be to keep a good chopper a solid fixed blade a multi tool and send the rest... I f your choices arent rugged enought to last the summer than A) you know they weren't what you were looking for b) gives you an excuse to buy more...lol

If you're swing by my neck of the woods, you should go to Buffalo for your knife needs, it's only maybe a hour away.

Ya, I dont know if were going to cross over into the states or not, depending on what goes on, dip down into the northern states, but its hard to say, considering Nova Scotia is on the other side of canada, were probably going to take the quickest way ;):D

Nice to hear you are moving back to beautiful NS, Fonly.
I'll be home for 6 weeks in October, we may have to get out for a hike or do some fishing.
