Local pilot dies in jet crash at Reno Air Races - Paso Robles Daily News

A tragedy abruptly ended the Reno Air Races on Sunday afternoon. Paso Robles pilot Aaron Hogue died when he crashed at high speed in his L-29, Ballista, Flying Magazine reports.

I knew about the crash at Reno but, I had no idea who the pilot was.

Hogue has always impressed me with decent quality and well designed products.

Sad but he wasn't just "flying." He was air racing and I'm sure he knew the risks.

Very sad. I heard about the crash, but I didn’t know who the pilot was til I saw it here. Thoughts and prayers to his family and friends, and to this community that also lost another good one. When my ticket is up, if I don’t go in my sleep, I hope it’s doing something I love doing.
