Congrats Tom, yep one of my all time favorites. I had a regular version of the BA3 one time and just dug the look and feel but always felt it was just a tad too thick. The ABA or ABALE are a must on my Busse someday list!
 
That ABA was a great score. Congrats.

I looked at that one really hard when it came up but had a couple of others in the works which I was already committed to. Would love a snake handled one to come my way.

Of all the knives to be released soon, I'd definitely go for a re-release of the ABA :o
 
awesome knife tom,,,i love the looks of the saber ground blade with the v edge:thumbup:.
i wish the new boss jack le had a v edge,it has kind of a classic old school look to it..
 
I would be all over a few BOSS ABA's

I sharpened this one, and the infi seems just a tad sharper and harder than recent production. Could it be closer to 62 rockwell??

i have a few older busses[pre 2005] and i noticed they get real sharp with just a ceramic stick and yet hold the edge very well,amazing stuff..
i also bought a couple of used fsh's a while back that were pretty dull.with a few light swipes of the ceramic they were pretty sharp and ready to chop.it does seem some are a bit harder than others..

The only one I could even begin to think might be better is if it had green linen handles rather than the black paper. Maybe not as sexy but I still happen to think the green linen is the best all around micarta.
