hi everyone,
I just bought a big country Kampr (8 inch, AUS8 blade, made in japan) and would like to know more about it (it should arrive in a couple days) has any of you got any experience with this knife yet? what do you think about it?
and once I get it, i´m planning on doing a review to post here on BF.
what are the tasks you wanna see this knife performing?
thanks a lot!

It is essentially a larger version of the Blackjack Grunt. They are made in Japan so the quality is great. It has a nice convex edge and the same great handle as the Grunt. AUS8 may have fallen out favor with steel snobs but it is actually one of my favorites since it is so easy to get a very keen edge. I think you will enjoy using it.

I don\'t think they will made anymore now that Ken Warner is no longer at the helm of Blackjack.

thanks matthewdanger.
I went for it because it was not expensive and I wanted a stainless blade for wet environment use.
how does the grunt compare to the kampr? one is made in china, the other in japan, and they are made of different steels, I think I might get a grunt too, for 20 bucks seems like a really good deal. it is any good?

The origional Aus8 Grunt is an awesome knife, I can't see the China version being much different and for $20 you can't go wrong !!!

I have both and they are both great. The AUS8 version was always a pretty good deal but the new Chinese versions are a smoking deal.

thanks so much guys
the grunt is on my wishlist now, and for 20 bucks I think I`ll buy 2 and give one to a friend who is a biologist and goes to the amazon jungle frequently.
the kampr should arrive tomorrow, I`ll be doing some field testing with it ASAP.
