About buck 301/303

I contacted the company I bought it from and they contacted the company that imports the Buck knives. They told me to send it to them so they could take a look at it and swap it out for another one. I'm sure it will turn out right.
I know it's a user but when something about a knife bothers me I don't want to use it, but keep nagging about it.

Glad things got sorted out. Let us know how it all goes down.

Its likely that the slight list to port is due to the person doing the final grinding on the back of the knife. Whenever a knife is ground by hand there is a chance for this. Nothing to be alarmed about in the majority of cases but 1mm does sound excesive.

I would love to see an upgraded 303 as well. Bone handles and improved blade steel would make it the perfect slipjoint for me.

FYI-
The local Wallyworld here in Boise has a poly pearl 303 for under $20. I paid a bit more than that

The local Wally World here had a wood handled 303 last week. It looked ok but not as nice as the polypearl handled one. I love the idea of a wood handled 303, it was just that this wood was uninspiring.

I don't know. I really love 300 knives with black saw cut scales. They make me think of James Dean. I think it is one of the best esthetics going in pocket knives, really much nicer than plastic mother of pearl.

My dream knife would be a 313 muskrat with black saw cut scales, a BG 42 Turkish clip blade and a half serrated 440 spay blade. That would be James Dean in Giant. Wow!

easyrider, check in discontinued items. sometomes they are in a side display and sometimes in a box.i'd think the walmart on coors at the freeway would have the best selection.guy

This knife that leans is Imported? From where? Isn't Buck handling warranty issues on thier imports? I am wondering because I just bought a 303 at walmart and when I got home and took a closer look, I see it is made in China. (trying to decide about returning it)

How did yours turn out?
Thanks,
Dan

Well it's imported in the Netherlands from the U.S.A. :D

I finally got my new 303 today. They send me a new one a few weeks ago, but the mail company lost it so they had to send another one.
This one is much nicer. It's symmetrical, the bolsters are much more rounded without sharp edges. The blades were pretty sharp the way I got them, the little blades needed a little touch up to shave the hairs of my arm, the main blade was shaving sharp as it came. I had to brake the main blade in by opening and closing it about a hundred times to make it as smooth as the other two. I really like this one.
