I decided to post here so I'm sure you guys that read / responded to my post woull read it, so i can clear the air.

about the turpin strife ad i posted earlier, I would like to apologize as I realise, that even if i clearly stated that I wanted offers by PM, it was kind of a silent auction thing i was running in the end and I posted it in the section for sale with somthing that could mislead to think it was a fixed price, where you guys are used to the "first i'"ll take it" wins.

This was clealry disturbing. It was really an honest mistake and I apologize.

Even after checking i don't even know where the auction section is, and if silent auctions are allowed...

Anyway, I've been talking with some of you in private, and to make it short : they helped me come up with a solution.

I'll evaluate soon what i want for the knife. I'll ask the first i'll take it ( i believe it's "qilanxiaozhu" ) if he should take it for that price.
If not, i'll start a fixed price sale or a silent auction if i can find where the section is., after he do answer me.

You have to know that I was not completly fishing to know the value of the knife as this sale would have lead you to think. As i said in PM, i've been folowing the latest auctions on dustin website and i've been also following his instagram.

As I said, i'm low on funds, my budget is really tight right now and I have a build coming up I must have some money for.

I hope you will all think that this solution is fair.

Again guys, I'm really sorry for the headache.

I for one thank you for the explanation - it takes a lot to stand up in public and say "hey I screwed up and I'm sorry, and here's how i'll try an fix it"

so well done - and good luck with future sales.

JD

If you don't mind my saying, you should be starting with a clean slate and since you didn't list a price or follow forum guidines, no one should have first dibs based on your improper ad. It is very simple. You come up with a price you want and post for sale. First person who says for sure they'll take it at your posted price gets it. Just my two cents.

Very nice job explaining your self. Now hurry up and post something!!!!!!!!!!! Lawfor has not left his computer all morning!!!!!!!

Why is it so difficult for people to read the rules? Put it on Ebay if you want to hold an auction.

Want to make it right? Sell it to the first person who posted an "I'll take it" at your original listing price to break even.

I don't think he should be held to a price that he's unhappy with b/c he made a mistake. Just forget all this stuff happen, post a new thread with price and take the first buyer or post it on eBay.

I understand there is no silent auction section on the forum? As that was my original intention.

If there was an auction area everyone would post their knives there to ensure top dollar/max profit.

I agree with Josh, once the mods delete your original thread repost it with a price and go from there. Honest mistake, but when I post something on a forum I'm not familiar with I read the rules first. If you want an auction post it on fleabay.

I've contacted the first "i'll take it" as i said I would. So for now i'll wait for his answer before taking any action.

This is about right. The rules have been cleaned up over the last couple years and made to be clear and concise. It's pretty tough to misinterpret what is already written, even on purpose. You need to list a fixed price, it's not that it is what we are accustomed to, it's because this is the forum rule, this is not an auction house. Ebay is already in the business of auctions.

Here is a link to the rules, read the section for "Sellers Selling

I'm sure everyone here always reads all the rules, terms, conditions, etc. for anything they do. People are always so quick to get all high and mighty. Calm down.

He made a mistake, owned up to it, apologized, and then asked for help on how to correct the issue. I wish more people were like this.

No one is getting pissy here except for you. Honest mistake, it was understood long before your own virtuous entry here. Move along. Have a good weekend folks.
