Filing gets to be almost hypnotic, I really think for the smaller knife like this I would repeat the process. It there was a lot of stock removal I might yeild to a more agressive means! When I got to the handle I began to have second thoughts about my choice of material. The black ebony wore me out. It started out twice as thick as I wanted (7/16) so that meant a whole lot of material removal. It finished at 1/4 per side. I used a rasp and it went pretty fast (relatively speaking about as fast as the draw filing the blade) I never realized how hard hard is until I messed with this stuff. Petes did the heat treat and it came back a 57.5 Rc. The steel was donated by TheGeek thanks man. I have something started on the 2nd piece you sent me.

My wife made a contribution with a cover until I can make the sheath. Thanks Honey!

I may venture a little farther with some slight contouring the handle, maybe. I do like the simplicity.

Its a heck of a lot better than my second. Keep this up and you will be doing really, really nice work in no time.

Nice work.

That is one hell of a sticker

I really like the angles on the blade. And the pouch is a nice touch too. Tell your wife she did great.
