? about Military Khukuris

Uncle Bill and Randy. I am broke now and for the forseeable future. I am on the M43 list, if you want to give Randy my spot and put me at the end, that would be good for everyone I think.

No sweat guys, I have some other things that are more pressing at the moment. The HIKV is going to have to be forced into remission for a time. Withdrawl will be tough, but I got my Bob Kenny Bolo (AKA the Table Leg Special)to see me through this rough time.;)

Uncle Bill,
Do I need to do anything like send you money now or do I just wait untill the knife is ready.

Once again thank you Bob.

Randy

If you send the money you get on the prepaid wait list and that list gets priority over the non paid list. Actually, there's nobody prepaid so if you send the check it means you get the next one to come in.

N2S,
This did happen and I have seen a few examples including the close ups of the ricasso on a well used K45. As I hope you can see the overstamping is done to strike the military marks/proofs and then on the reverse is punched in the word India. I have been told that this was the only legal way civilian merchants could sell military stores.

But this example seems to have been stamped "India" directly over the original military markings. The word "india" appears near the brass bolster. BTW, the bolster appears to have been cast in place after manufacture (perhaps another modification for the tourist).

Uncle Bill,
I will have the $145.00 to you by Thursday can I pay with credit card if so how? I have a PayPal account if that Helps. I also want to make sure $145.00 is the right amount.

Thank you,
Randy

N2S,
Looks like yet another variation on a theme. I have seen this small India stamp, but never next to such crisp markings.

   ;)

John,

I can see why the book is taking so long. There are so many variations of these knives that your photos are going to have to be provided on microfilm, and your text will need to be boiled down from 2000 pages. :)

Any update on the BOOK?????!????? :D

The Book. Very, very slow going. I am about halfway through a section on kothimoras and there is a very loose outline on WW II models which is proving difficult. I will probably preface this tome with "variations upon variations prevent any information being final"

:barf:

I would rather pay more for a better book than less for a smaller one.

Good luck and keep us posted.
