abrasive 1x30 belts: lap or butt joint?

What source would you recommend for bearings/wheels/etc to upgrade HFor BT type 1x30’s?

Cliff at Curry Custom Cutlery has lots of upgrade parts for the common machines. He's a great guy to deal with and really knows the stuff he's selling.

I use a Rikon 1x30 variable speed bench sander when I can't make the Tormek work for some knives. When I use it I apply a belt grease. The name is Fomax I think, I'll double check. It's a little messy on your hands if your handling them, not too bad.
Australian Knife Grinders sold something similar. There are a few variations out there.
The company I buy from claims they will cool 25%.
speed and pressure are the enemies. Just let the abrasive do the work.
