ABS contact question

I have kind of a general question that I was hoping someone on the forums could answer. About a month ago, I paid my membership fee and purchased a copy of Jim Batson's book from the ABS store on thier website. To date, I've recieved the regular ABS literature, like I got last year, but still don't have the book that I ordered. I sent a couple of emails today, to the "info@..." address that's listed on the website and on my order reciept. I was wondering if there is another way to contact someone regarding my order? Who would be the right person to contact? I don't want to just bug people by emailing them "at random" so to speak. I seem to remember there being a phone number last year, but I've so far been unable to locate one in the past couple of days. I understand that there may be a back order on the books, but a little notice or a heads-up would be nice... Any ideas, information or feedback would be greatly appreciated!

You could contact Jan DuBois. She has always been very helpful when I needed assistance. She is very busy, so it might take her a few days to get back to you.

Email address: spqjan1 at aol.com

Jan DuBois is a one woman dynamo, but she has so much to do and all that work to accomplish this time of year. With the blade show, the Master/Journeyman smith tests, and the ABS Annual Meeting anything like general paperwork and mailing/emailing was on hold this last month. The book will probably be coming soon, now that Blade is over.

The ABS would be at a severe loss without her.

Redneckswami, you're not alone. I paid my membership fee back in April and have not gotten a response yet other than the automated receipt.

I ordered Bill Morans damascus DVD, and it took many months to get it. Apparently, someone at the Post Office keeps stealing their stuff. They had to send me another copy, and the second one got through. If you haven't gotten what you ordered, that may be what happened. But, the ABS is also way understaffed....

I had problems with my membership when I first joined, also. Drop Jan an email; she'll straighten it out for you.

Keith, I tried to email with the address posted above and got a message that the address was not valid. Are you sure that address is correct?

I too joined the ABS online in April and nothing has gone through.

I sent an email to Jan and her email bounced back to me as well.
I also left a voice message for Jan to call me and no return phone call.

Don Fogg posted in another forum that the estore for the ABS is not working correctly and to mail in your membership.

I understand that the people that work for the ABS are volunteers and Jan has been working quite hard with other things besides the ABS. I applaud the volunteers but I am beginning to wonder if the ABS should start having full or part time workers to make life easier for those that volunteer. I have volunteered for organizations that grew to the point where my work load took quite a bit of my family time.

That's all I'll say on this subject.

I hate putting actual email addresses in posts, because they can be harvested by spammers.

Her email address is spqjan1 @ aol.com (remove the spaces).
