Hey Joss!
I've been thinking about it since I missed the last one... I may be looking for a roadtrip partner... Depends on budget and time... Maybe we can "drag" Nick?!?!
Since we live in Reno(Sun Valley) we will be there. We were there last year in it's first year by itself with the Safari Club being at the convention center makes it a little better. The show last year was great, small but met top of the line knife makers(forgers), and great people to talk to, and beautiful knives to see.
Would not miss it for anything
Hopefully, Mr. Moran will be able to make it this year. Add to that Don Fogg, who also couldn't make it last year, and if I'm not mistaken Bailey wasn't there either, right? So it should be an even better show.
My plan was to fly like last year. It's a nice short flight...but a LOOOOOOOONG drive. Could be a fun drive, but with all of the mountains you have to cross to get there, it could be ugly too.
The table I had last year was going to be Bailey's....so maybe I'll have to set up underneath his this year?!?
There's no show more tailor-made for my specific interests than the Reno show. A close second would be Little Rock. Problem is, the travel cost from Toronto to Reno is more than double that from Toronto to Little Rock (for reasons I don't understand). So chances are I'll have to pass on Reno. Bummer.
Roger
PS - Oh yeah - for cryin' out loud will one of you guys attending Reno bring a digital camera this year and take some pics and post them? I don't recall ANY photos from last year's show.
Joss... yup, if I go, I'll drive... so my trip is also weather dependent... Basically, I won't support the airline industry until I can carry my William Henry on board like I used to be able to... and I wouldn't risk any treasures to the "checked baggage"... after all, we still aren't sure who's "checking" the bags!(How many guys did they just bust at airports in the NE for drug smuggling??) LOL!!!
