ABS World Championship Cutting Competition – Atlanta‘2005

Really Great Post Thank You!
I Bet Reggie Could have been a 300 hitter with hands like that.
Dan Farr's knife looks out of this world

Those of us who didnt make Blade were richly treated by all these great posts Thanx All

Piter,
You have done an outstanding job in your pictoral report! Great job! I can tell from some of your pics that we were right beside eachother shooting the contest at times. I'm sorry I didn't realize it as I would liked to have met you in person. Next time, maybe! Thanks again for the great post.

Only one question or point... you don't look very happy to be there :p
Just dog tired... trip, time zone change, evenings in the Pit... :D

Deserve a rep point for the thread.
I was at blade but just plain forgot about the cutting compitition...
Thanks for showing what i missed.

One interestingthing that caught my eye was how 'unrefined' the handle on Reggie's knife is. It simply looks like slab construction--very boxy and un-ergonomic.....

That said, I'm dead certain this was intentional. Maybe ol' Reggie want's that feeling of distinct orientation in his hand, in lieue of comfort.

(Piter thanks for your always-crisp photos! :))

Very well done Piter.Wonderful report and pictures. One of the best reports on the cutting competition,if not the best.
I think there used to be another man from Poland who used to post great pictures and reports of knives.Basically knife testing reports.Forget his name.now Piter is here, doing a great job.His report on the Chris Reeve skinner on the CRK forums is an excellent one also. Thanks again,Piter.

Coop, if I'm not mistaken, the handle on Barker's knife is made out of neoprene (or some such tacky / grippy synthetic material). It feels better than it looks. ;) And you just gotta love Reggie's sheath. I will say that Dan Farr's handle is a work of ergonomic art.

Rogers right Coop - Reggie let us have a look at that knife and it is neoprene wrapped over another material if I recall correctly - my personal observation was that the softish rubbery skin of the handle allowed it to form a very good and confortable surface contact with the hand no matter how you held it ....... mind you I was on a steel high at the time so I could be wrong.
