Absinthe recommendations

Actually, thujone does NOT have THC-like effects. This is a myth. Despite its THC-like molecular shape, it does not bind to the same receptors in the brain. Instead, it is a GABA receptor antagonist, which in sufficient quantities can cause convulsions and muscle spasms, but no hallucinations.

Absinthe doesn't cause any effects different from any other alcohol. If the drinker does perceive something different, it is placebo.

The show I saw on it , and from what I have read states the opposite , of course depending on if the absinthe you get is genuine or new school.
Who knows though , until I have tried it I guess , and I'm in no big hurry. :D

Pernot is nothing more than Absenth sans Wormewood oil. It came about in Fance after Absenth was made illegal. Pernot is made by the same company that made the Absenth.

Wormwood oil is available at many essential oils dealers and some health food stores.

Just add 2 drams (1/4 oz) of PURE Wormwood oil to a fifth of Pernot. Gently swirl the bottle to mix. Store in a cool, dark closet for two weeks, gently swirling the bottle every day to keep the blend properly mixed.

I have been making this Absenth for over 30 years with no problem. It was taught to me by my Grandfather who made it for 30 - 40 years before me.

Put one ounce Absenth in a tall glass of shaved ice and fill with cold, bottled water (the drink will turn a milky white). Enjoy! This stuff has an unusual kick, so use some common sense while getting used to it.
