Nice, though I would have preferred a baggie of freshly cured green to a bottle of green

Yup, that's getting pretty close to what I'm after! Great pics! Do you import or is there a place locally where you can buy from?

Careful with that stuff, remember what happened when Van Gogh was messin with Absinthe and blades. :D

I had heard that it was legal to produce it now. Expensive to buy but legal. Never tried the stuff myself. When I drank it was Jack and Coors. Nothing fancy but it sure did the dirty deed.

I dont think the new stuff has wormwood in it. So its just trendy booze du jour. Gimme a good ol dark beer or Dirty Vodka Martini any day.

The stuff I've purchased in North America has next to no wormwood / thujone content in it, but the way I understand it it really makes no difference anyhow.

Having had both traditionally distilled absinthe (with high thujone content) and the trendy stuff you're likely to find in stock at a bar, neither has caused me to experience hallucinations.

As with any high proof alcohol, it's just gonna get you drunk!:p

UJ,

I still love that SJ # 982 Bro!!! That is just one FINE SJ. The FSH, well, enough said.

LOL....me too if you asked a year ago.my asthma wont allow it anymore so now its "TO THE BOTTLE".

in a perfect world it would be both.i go all out.

Absinthe killed off a lot of great painters and poets in the early part of the 20th century. There's a good reason why the stuff with wormwood in it was made illegal. It had a nasty tendency to give enthusiasts brain cancer. Absinthe is good, but there are a lot better/ cheaper/ safer ways to hallucinate than with wormwood.

You wanna trip out? Just pound a bottle of Robitussin DM and be done with it. Just make sure your schedule is clear for the next 72 hours first!

Don't know exactly what the wormwood content does, but I can tell you first hand, three glasses of 68% booze of any kind gets you flying fine. Have a few after a big meal and see how quick you'll be up movin':thumbup:

The Absinthe is the real deal ..... It was all imported from the UK ......

The only absinthe that is legal contains 0% thujone.. That is what make you trip out depending on the quanity drunk.. . It is a combo of the wromwood and other herbs that take you to the next level...

The thujone in these bottles are around 30-35 mg.

I want to pick to the King Gold .... that has 120 mg. of thugone... @ $200 + a bottle is a bit steep though....

I never picked up an SJ but that FSH looks mighty sharp!! The Absinthe I had in Heidleberg was 140 proof, sorta like anise flavored moonshine!!

Yea but ,where is the class in that?:) .. That stuff is not intended to drink in that manner... Thats almost on the same level of Huffing gold spray paint or doing whip its ... :barf:

Absinthe takes one up to an enlightened drunked state retaining clear thoughts and a sense of acute consciousness... . I have never got sloppy drunk off that stuff like, say off a bottler of Jager or Belvedere...
