The thujone in these bottles are around 30-35 mg.

I want to pick to the King Gold .... that has 120 mg. of thugone... @ $200 + a bottle is a bit steep though....

I've spent a night or two drinking this stuff... not really any better than the rest, actually, mostly disapointed in the lack of Green Fairies.:o

Looks like you have a gene that repels the effects of Absinthe.... :D:D

There is two types of king gold , one with 30mg and other with 120mg .

Maybe you had the other stuff. The bottles look the same //
 
Nice pictures! Ive had the absinthe original bitter spirit with 35mg of thujone, I got super drunk on several occasions, no hallucinations.:rolleyes: IMO the stuff tastes like a$$+ it doesn't make you trip+ it's too expensive= more for everyone else.:thumbdn:

Really you don't trip from the stuff .. Its hard to explain....


Also , It is crucial that you prepare the drink properly... Drinking it straight is not the way to consume this stuff...

Always mix , 1 part Absinthe 2 parts water and a pinch of sugar... I prefer to put a fork on the rim of the glass. put a sugar cube on top and light it on fire..

There is a reaction with the mixture and makes the drink more potent as far as wierd occurances goes... Drinking it straight will just get ya drunk..
 
Here is a picture of what Absinthe looks like when prepared properly ..

Its pretty cool... Once you add even a drop of water to the stratght absinthe the entire drink truns into a milky green...

Once again it is crucial to prepare it in this manner...

Its no cow poop fruit... its hard to tell if Im tripping when I drink the stuff, I have noticed deafening silence, Id desribe as being next to really loud music for a long time and someone turning it off all of the sudden... O well I tried to describe it...:p

True. Class was never my strong suit. I haven't done "the Robo" in many, many years. But I can testify as to its effectiveness. It's nasty, it tastes like liquid hell, and will tweak you out for 3 days straight, but 8 oz. of Robitussin is guaranteed to make you see stuff that isn't there. For young, invincible suburbanites looking for a "vision quest", it can't be beat. I'm sure it does you absolutely no good- probably thrashes your liver.

My sister brought back a few bottles of high-test absinthe from Prague a few years ago- she had been living there for several months. And yes, it does jack you up but good. :thumbup:

I don't know if I'd be willing to lay down the cash for King's Gold. This is just one site, but the opinion seems to be pretty negative:

I'm no expert on the subject but after wasting a lot of money on crappy absinthe having some much nicer nicer absinthe given to me (as well as having purchased some other brand, I can't remember the name), I'm pretty much convinced that the wormwood/thujone content makes little difference.

Like any alcohol, you have varying degrees of quality in the distillation process, resulting in some very fine and also some very crappy alcohol.

It was nice to have received that Absinthe Montmartre from my parents, but my days of dropping cash on expensive absinthe are definitely behind me. There are much nicer things out there deserving of my hard earned cash! ;)
 
Hmm...Seems as if everyone here would rather drink the Green Fairy than smoke the Green Fairy. Too bad...
