Hey There,
I just finished this knife and sheath a day or two ago and don't realy know what to call it but I thought Absolute Hunter sounded good.
When I first started making this knife I wanted to make the Absolute strongest, Absolute hardest working, Absolute best knife I have made for hunting, camping, utility or whatever you want to use it for.
I used 1095 for the blade. I did a convex grind for Absolute streangth. It has been edge quenched 3 times for a hard edge and soft spine for Absolute toughness. I did a triple temper at 450f degrees to bring the hardness to 58to59 on the rockwell-c scale for Absolute edge holding ability and resharpening ability. I hand sanded the blade to 800grit and acid etched and polished with steel wool. It does have a definent heat treat line, but my camera sucks and I can't pick it up very well in the pictures. This one has maroon micarta bolsters, and stabilized redwood burl handle that have been hevily contoured for the Absolute best grip. This is the 3rd knife I have made with this handle design and I realy like it. It is very comfortable. This one has black liners and black & white spacers. The spine has file work and thumb notches.
The sheath was also made by me from 8to9 oz veg. tanned leather. It has been hand stamped and stitched and dyed with Fiebings antique tan leather dye. It has been formed to the knife for a snug fit.
Dimensions: The overall leangth of the knife is 9 1/8" the blade is 4 3/8" and is 1 3/8" at the widest point. The tang of the knife is 3/16" thick and the blade tapers from the bolster to the tip of the blade.
This one is $230.00 Price Drop $210.00 now $180.00 with free shipping in the USA which includes shipping and insurance in the Great U.S.A. and any paypal fees. I accept money order or paypal to maximusaurullius@yahoo.com post any questions or I'll take it here, or pm me, or email me at spaknives@yahoo.com Thanks, Shane
