I was wondering why peoples posts about memorial day and the vets who made the US what it is are being removed by the moderator ?
Are we so concerned with balisongs
that we cant take time out to read a post about memorial day or is it just a matter to abuse of power ?

TJ

If you will take the time to read the comments, you will notice that they were not removed but just transfered to a more appropriate forum for broader exposure.

In both cases, I included a link to the new thread for those who want to follow it and join that thread. That link does not happen automatically. It's a manual process and actually takes quite a bit of time since you have to wait for the forum server to formulate the new URL and make several changes in its database. So, that's an extra effort on my part, but I did it specifically so that people would be encouraged to follow the thread to its new location.

I think if Chuck's desire was to be malicious, he would have simply locked the thread and typed one sentence.

"Off topic, thread is now closed."

Does Chuck run a tight ship around here? Yeah.

But that is not necessarily a bad thing either.

I don't think there was any offense intended. Would I have done that if it had been in the Filipino Combat Arts Forum? Probably not.

He is running the Forum he Co-Moderates the way he sees fit and I see nothing wrong with that and I see no disrespect coming from him.

D.R. is correct; the post was moved with a link, nothing more than that.
Celebrate our freedom (THANK YOU to The Greatest Generation, re Tom Brokaw) on this day to have these public forums, which we sometimes take for granted. Now if the government would just quit trying to control the knives we own...
Please feel free to move this C.G. if it belongs elsewhere.

Please take your seats gentlemen; oh, and flip 'em if you've got 'em.

We should indeed celebrate and exercise our freedom but the greater freedom requires greater maturity and responsibility.

Chuck, I support you running the way it is. Furthermore, Vietnam is a difficult topic from pro and cons I read in so many publications, so it should belong to the community forum ..

Chris,

Memorial Day in The United States is about all Veterans who have Served their country, not just about Vietnam Veterans although they are included (as they should be) as well.

Joe,

And that is all well and good, the fact remains that there is more to Memorial Day than the Vietnam War, Police Action, Conflict or whatever the Mainstream is calling it now.

I took no offense at it and that's about it.

I don't think Chuck took offense at it either, just ran things the way he wanted.

Further, I think that even if someone despised the Vietnam War, they should not let that carry over to the rest of Memorial Day.

I guess bitterness abounds, huh? I dunno.

Joe,

I'm not "upset," therefore, do not need to calm "down," OK?

Take it to E-mail and put away the Sniper Rifle.

Its just I dont understand what is ok to post and what is not ? some people who try to sell knives here are removed while others are not ,and some come here to advertise ther new products .And a topic like what knife you carry every day is not removed but a memorial day post that was not offensive is .Like a person comes here selling knives and is removed but a person advertising the new microtech knife is not ,I dont get it ? who makes the rules

Don, get rid of your stupid vendetta. I simply gave you a piece of information, since you obviously had missed it. If I was aiming for you, I certainly wouldn't have behaved in the polite manner which I did.

P.S., and don't email threats to me.

I never threatened you at all, I'm telling you, leave the personal garbage between us out of this you disturbed young man...and I mean it. Understand?

Quit making it sound like I was "threatening" you in a physical manner you Internet Psychopath.

I'm not threatening you, I'm telling you, back off...you're the one with the issues, not I.

Now, there was absolutely no reason whatsoever for you to come on here and inform me of anything Joe.

What I said stands on its' own.

Now, like I said, put the Sniper Rifle down and leave me alone.

Blow me, I'm a human being before I'm a Moderator. I'm not a robot and you have no idea what the hell is going on so stay out of it.

I think your just blowing this way out of proportion. There is not conflict here, I think that you might just be miss-reading what is being said by Don. PLEASE READ and think before you act, and hopefully less (unnecessary) arguments will be started. All of this is unnecessary and can be avoided if it was not for miss conceptions, miss reading, and jumping to conclusions. Please read before you attack.
