I can appreciate the destruction testing. It certainly doesn't make me think I have the best knife though. It makes me know I have a tough knife, which, lets face it, is nice to know. I have a Scrapyard Dogfather and Scrapper 6. They give me the warm fuzzies just to know I have them. They will be part of my bug out bag. The large knife I USE most will be thinner (to cut better and to be lighter) and the shorter knife I use most will be a Mora. The blades I USE will be tough ENOUGH for what I use them for and cheap enough to drop in the river if my boat collapses. For a larger blade I'd like the Ranger knives or RAT cutlery 9 inch blades for regular use.
The Scrapyard knives go in my bugout bag cause I know they won't break UNDER MY OWN POWER. I need that assurance in a knife that will be there for emergencies and will have to last until I get back to a sane world and a knife shop or computer to order a knife that will be better for REGULAR knife TASKS.
