I follow some knife makers on Instagram but I'll be damned if I can do anything but browse.

Anyway, Millit put up a rebuttal of what were apparently some accusations of knife design-related misdeeds on their part. Possibly made by a knife designer? My google fu has failed. Anyone know what is going on?

Never heard anything about it. I though most of millits work was oem commissioned stuff.

I know that the new Surv!ve line is going to be made by them, and that company (Surv!ve) might not be able to handle further issues...

I hope things work out amicably for all parties involved.

My Millit knives on order are Jerry Moen designs--so I thought--and I don't have any in house yet as I just learned about them last month. Are the accusations against him, others, a group?

If we're talkin direct ripoffs/design steals here we should be able to get to the source. Otherwise, I myself could make many accusations practically across the board pertaining to specific models being obvious wannabes taken from other brands.

The accusation is that they are still producing knives from a collaboration that ended some time ago. As they stated in their post, the rumor is untrue.

Yes, I just saw this on Instagram. Who knows the intentions of the person spreading these rumors. Millit has operated behind the scenes as a contractor for years. It's hard to get such a stellar reputation from a variety of makers if you lean towards shady business practices. They mentioned something about Hoback (easy to name drop if your intention is to smear), but as far as I know he's said nothing. I'm guessing since they also retail knives, perhaps they were selling some from that collaboration and the accuser was making the assumption they were still producing them?

They've signed far too many NDA's, worked with too many people to even give this a second thought. Could be sour grapes from somebody who's not managed to do what they've accomplished.

IIRC, Millit goes so far with the NDA's as to black out/pixelate the knives they are working on in their shop tour videos

Here's a screenshot of their post for those interested:

Don't you love social media crap which elevates itself into this and is repeated on other social media sites and forums. Whatever. :(
Well, if they'd called the local media with this the response would've probably been something along the lines of "wait, what? Who's Millit knives and who's Jake Hoback? Are either of you related to the Kardashians or the Trumps? Sorry, we've already got a piece on a fight between two drug addicts on a bus to cover. You should announce your little Hoback thing on social media!"

Instagram is the modern press release.
