I have it on good authority that Coop has a couple of the others...and hopefully can post some pictures :D

Thanks for posting this up Bill. I enjoyed visiting with you and as always really liked the show. This is my 3rd year and is one I just have to attend. I like the small intimate setting and the knives are always great. Some of the finest makers around and it is always nice to meet new collectors. Dave's shop rocks and is an excellent place for the event. The discussion for future formats for the show was very productive and I think they will enhance the show. I will let the maker's post up the direction the show is headed as I know more of you will want to add this one to your radar.

Jon

Thanks for posting those up Bill! The other two will be a little late to the party, but that'll be well worth the wait I'm sure. It's no secret that Coop is one of the best in the biz, and I can't wait to see what he works up for them!

This show was definitely the best time I've had at a knife event. Seattle isn't exactly known for it's bright, sunny weather but the sun was out the whole time and you could see for miles in every direction. Last year I didn't even realize that they have an awesome volcano looming in the distance, how cool!:) Mountains, beautiful forests and the ocean all right there...wow!

Susan and I really enjoyed seeing everyone again. We could live up there for the food alone...If you've never had the seafood up there, it'll get you spoiled in a hurry! We had a great day at Dave's shop doing and watching demos. That place is like the laboratory of a mad scientist! So much cool stuff to see. Basically, if it can be forged, Dave has one stashed around there some place...Hog Heaven for a steel addict!

The show was great as well. Got to meet a few new people, catch up with friends and see some beautiful work from the other makers. Two of my favorites have already been posted up. That ring-guard fighter that Dave had and the convertible push-dagger of Mike V's were just insane! Jon C. and Tom both had tables full of super-clean awesomeness that shone from across the room. Those guys have a handle on wicked damascus that you can just get lost in!

The day after the show we went and hung out with Albert at his sharpening shop and watch him work his magic on one of my blades. He basically turned it into a 14" razor blade in no-time flat. Its no wonder he has to really work to find a patch of hair on his arm! Then we headed over to Dave's place to kick back and unwind for a bit. It was GREAT to just have a few beers and shoot the bull with everybody. That day was just the ticket...

I definitely want to send a very heartfelt thank you to Jon Klein, Bill Flynn, the rest of the ACE guys and everyone who came and supported the show. It's a very special event and I'm counting the days until the next time it rolls around again!

The remaining two knives from Mike at this show arrived yesterday. I opened the box about an hour ago....

I put them back in the zipper pouches after a lonnnng exhale and examination. Incredible work. I need to take my time on them, when I'm not overloaded.

Props to ALL!

Coop

It is now mine Lorien, I will let you hold it next time you come down to Studio 4 since you were nice enough to put my pic in Blade

AHHHHHKK!
now I'm even more bummed I couldn't make it :(
What a coooooool knife!

couldn'a gone to a nicer and more deserving guy

Here is a truly spectacular piece by TOm Ferry for Gabe Newell (Valve software) - a cut and shoot based on characters and a weapon from the game:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

You cannot appreciate from this picture all the incredible detail...so you will just have to imagine it:p

The artwork surrounding it was the basis for the engraving

I will echo everyone else and say that the show was FANTASTIC! I love the ACE show, it's unique and much more personal. One is able to learn a lot about the knife makers, their processes and love of what they do. The show is not only educational but really fun, you have time to talk to everyone there and just have a good time. Each presentation was excellent. Dave pounded out a shop rat in no time explaining the process and Tom went into the details of his astounding engraving. This was very interesting as I have always been amazed at his work. Mike Jr. jumped into forging a knife on the spot. Another excellent presentation! I snapped the bellow pic of Mike Jr. flattening the blade with my phone. Safe to say, this is probably the coolest picture I will take, ever.

Talking with Jon and Mike V collector to knife maker made for an excellent conversation, we all learned about what each collector is looking for in a knife/maker and why along with the challenges that makers face. Soon after we all left for the hotel to prep for the show.

HOLY SMOKES each maker brought their A game! Every piece of steel was an amazing creation unique and of the highest quality. I could go on and on about the knives.... Here is a pic of Mike Jr. and my self, him holding one of the coolest down right epic sub-hilts I have seen and me holding his bowie that made my jaw hit the floor. Classic Mike Jr. Balanced, slim, beautiful, robust and deadly, all in one package! Sorry, cell phone pic.

Susan was kind enough to take a bunch of pictures of the event but I can't get them to download correctly right now, I will see if I can work it out later.

Mike Jr. was kind enough to send me the knives he brought to the show for sharpening - an honor and a pleasure! Everything at the show was sharpened excluding the sub-hilt so we headed to my shop the next day to sharpen it up and send it to Coop for photos. I can't wait to see them... Here are a few pics taken at my shop while sharpening "Loki". Please excuse the mess, I was slammed that entire week and didn't have time to tidy up prior to having visitors. :)

I love sharpening and I love custom knives so working on them is an absolute blast. Good custom blades are always fun but have their own set of challenges. With knives of such high quality, it makes my job a little easier. :) Thanks Mike!

All in all, this was one of the best weekends I have had in a long time. I would like to thank all those who made it possible, 2014 is a long time to wait for the next show! But I know it will be worth it. See you next month! :D

a cycling sharpenist!:thumbup::cool:

Love the Ruth Fighter and Kukri and then there's the subhilt:eek:. I'm hoping this is one of the knives that went to Coop. Can't wait to see the glamor shots of that one:thumbup:.

It sure is! The subhilt and I believe the bowie are in his hands. Yes, it's absolutely fantastic! Bill I had a hard time handing that monster back over to Mike...

Jon C - your bowie and the SF folder were INSANE. Very well done! Oh yeah, my damascus bottle opener works like a champ. :)

Lorien - sharpenist....I like the sound of that...

For some reason I can't download the pics from the show so I will just post the link from photobucket. Grab some refreshments, you have 170 pictures to look over! A big thanks to Susan for taking all these pictures! :D
