I got it. (One of) my grails. A Benchmade 760 LFTi. It's also my first titanium framelock. The lock is a little sticky, I'm going to figure out a way to remedy that though. Also, the pocket clip makes the knife sit a bit high in the pocket. Whatever, this knife is awesome! It looks cool, bank vault lockup, awesome M4 tool steel, and it's good looking. Anyway, I'm happy! :D

Here's an extremely un-flattering picture of it in black and white:

That's a knife I have lusted after for some time - luckily for me, it is too large to be legally carried where I live and I no longer have to anguish over buying one when I see one pop up... But I might anyway.

Congrats, I love Bob Lum designs. My last ti framelock, a spyderco chokwe, started out a bit sticky but smoothed out with a few days use. And you could always get a custom clip or put on a lanyard and go clipless. Enjoy your new knife, m4 and ti sounds good to me!

I have one, it was a wee bit sticky at first. Took a month or so of use and it smoothed out perfectly. This is one of the ones I will never let go. I didn't like the clip position at first and toyed around with idea of tapping new threads. Give it some time, I now like it as it is and wouldn't change a thing. I like that I CAN grab it easily unlike so many of my modern folders. Opens with a thwack, solid as can be and cuts like hell.

Nice score. I had one for a while with a Krein Regrind. I just wasn't a fan of the M4 or the tip down. They sure are nice looking knives though.

Always loved that knife. If it wasn't for the clip I would've bought one years ago, I just can't get over it.

Enjoy!

Thanks guys! I really dig this knife. But, I've been playing with it for an hour now, and I think the lock has gotten even stickier

Try scribbling the blade tang with a pencil, the graphite will slick it up. Permanent marker works too.

Or you could just buy some graphite powder.

Nice score, I got the blackwater version, nice knife but the point down carry ruins it.

Just give it time. Stickiness is something that occurs because the Ti is softer than the steel and is not quite perfectly smooth fresh from the factory. Give it time and use, and the lock will smooth out as the blade tang smooths out the lockbar. The graphite and marker tricks never seemed to help me, personally.

Thanks for the info! Yeah, graphite was no help at all. In fact, it made it a little worse. I'm just gonna give it a few weeks, and if it shows no progress, I called Benchmade and they said they'd help me out with it.

Tried that. Made it worse

Ive never had luck with the pencil.

Every sticky lock ive had was solved with marker though. Even if it doesn't its nothing break in won't fix.
