Will someone be so kind as to direct me to a good how-to on acid treating or similar types of blade "dressing-up"?

I have a N690Co blade that is screaming to be enhanced aesthetically. A cursory search via Google didn't really yield what I was looking for.

Many thanks.

I tried the sulfamic acid paste method..it worked but it's pretty light. I'll try another round of it and see if that darkens it up any.

Muriatic Acid (hydrochloric acid) found at hardware stores will work (get the 32% or so, not the diluted stuff), as will ferric chloride (PCB etchant from Radio Shack). Disassemble the knife and cover the pivot area with nail polish. Do the same for the edge if you wish. Dilute the acid 50/50 and dip the (disassembled) blade in the acid for about 10 minutes. Wipe the blade and decide if it's dark enough. Go in 5 minute increments after that until you're satisfied. Toss it in your tumbler and let it go until you like the finish.

Thanks for the advise..

Its a fixed blade though..I think I'm content for now with how it looks.
