As far as the dryer goes, I've done it with good results. Use a thick-walled plastic bottle, like a large Gatorade bottle. I used soapy water as a buffer, and small, smooth river rock as my media. Put the cap on as tight as you can with your hands and tape it shut. Wrap the bottle in a towel, being sure to cover the whole bottle, and tape it thoroughly. Just in case you have a leak the towel will absorb it. Throw the whole she-bang in the dryer with some other towels to quiet the noise. Set the dryer to the no heat setting and turn it on. I ran it for 40 minutes, but think the 80 minute setting would have given me a better result.
