Acrylic Pins Material??

I have a design that I would like to have red translucent pins. I was thinking about extruded acrylic rod. Anyone ever tried these? Don't want it to melt into a big mess when it touches the sander.

If you do it, try a test piece first.
Like you would if you were making a dress, take samples with you when you look at buying material.


I found the translucent materials do not PoP like a solid coloured material does.

Which translucent materials have you tried?

AS the count said,
try it first and you may need to do more hand sanding to avoid discoloring the rod from heat if you don't have variable speed.
