A while back I bought an coated AD blank from a fellow hog (Brian, I forgot who you are on BF, sorry bro)

After striping the coating, making handle slabs from black canvas micarta, polishing out all the g* darn dimples from the flats (holy cripes that was back breaking to do by hand, if I never have to do it again it'll be too soon) reprofiling the edge and getting this bastid hair whittling sharp I'm finally not doing any more work on it.... for now. Could still use a nicer satin finish, the spine could be polished and the handle slabs worked on a bit more to make them symmetrical, but I've had enough and it's time for this baby to get beat up before she's too pretty.

I also made a leather sheath before I realized I have a good one that came with my fallkniven F1 that fits the AD perfectly. This was my first attempt at leathercraft, so with that in mind I'd say it turned out all right.

Looks like she turned out pretty good. While I can appreciate your work, I could do with a little less blasphemous language. I say that as a regular forum member and not as a moderator. Again good work on the knife man.
 
I like your choice of leather. Those marks add character to a sheath.
 
I wanted to give you a high five for the great job on the knife but feel I have to pass cause well you are a man that has just pulled out a pube, that my friend is hardcore. But my Hog name is DirtySwine so why not HIGH FIVE.
 
Didnt mean to offend progunner. Trying to think of a way to express myself without blaspheming or cussing, but thats a pretty tall challenge for me, damn shi--lousy upbringing.

The leather was an accident really, bought a pound of leather scraps for $1 and I decided to use the funky looking one on the first try so I dont waste the nicer stuff in case of a screw up. Happy accident I guess.

I know brother, I don't exactly have the cleanest vocabulary either. I struggle with it daily. My father could make merchant marines and truckers look like choir boys, unfortunately I learned too much from him.

You got some nice cow stretch marks there. Character like I said. I like weird stuff like that.

In Mexico they lay the clay floor tiles to dry in the sun. The tiles that have animal prints on them the next day are prized...

You should contact Paul and compare notes. He has a pile of them he shaved off with a SHBM. :D:p;)

I too was offended on a couple levels, how does taking the Lords name in vane fit into this :confused: Nice knife but it kinda got lost in the translation :thumbdn:

EDIT- PG, I wasn't worried about being treated unfairly as you insinuate in your first sentance(below).

sketchbag- I am very sorry I got you an infraction. That never crossed my mind, I was only joking around hence the stick out the tounge face.
I admit I should'nt have posted the comment directed to PG and appoligize for that, but I promise I had no idea it would get you an infraction. Please accept my apology.

I am sure I did. Out of fairness I will remedy that and give him an infraction so all is fair. I wouldn't want anyone feeling like I treat anyone unfairly.

Look guys let's get back to sketchbag's knife, he apologized for the language and knows to watch it. He obviously put a lot of work into his blade and I am sorry my comment took this in another direction, I should have given him a warning and admonished him privately.

Sketchbag, again I apologize for this thread going off course. Let me take a moment, no Jesus police was intended. As I had said before I made the comment as a member, not a moderator. Ken44 voiced what sounded like a concern for fairness to me, so I made things even. No animosity behind any of it. Now if you guys choose to cuss, post images of scantily clad ladies, be vulgar or whatever I will be sure that I keep the field even.

DowntownDM, if someone posted something that's offensive to you, wouldn't you post something or take up the point with them? How does that make me any different than you? I voiced my opinion as a member and clearly stated as such. It wasn't until later I felt forced to act as moderator.

Now let's get this back on topic and keep it there. Sketchbag, I wouldn't mind seeing the slabs oiled up a bit to see how the liners and slabs offset one another. I completely missed the red liners until some one else mentioned it.
 
Di you plan to dye the sheath?

I'd like to see what that sheath looks like with oil on it. Or maybe a light brown distressed dye thing going on.

I'm a closet leather bender if you can't tell....:D
